Ole Buffet got an Updated Makeover

Happy Tuesday friends! I've been wanting to show you my new made over buffet for quite sometime now. I never seemed to be able to get around to snap pictures of it. It shows up a little differently in the photos and they just don't do it justice. It's a darker gray than appears to the eye. You can see the before pictures of the transformation .

I took a couple of other photos with different lighting after I changed my decor  yet again. Still not capturing the true color. But, you get the idea! :)

Simple Breakfast Buffet

As I plan a special going back to school breakfast for my 
"SENIOR" in high school, I threw together this Simple Breakfast Buffet in minutes a few years back for him and his friends. He had about 4 boys sleep over and this was a simply delicious choice!

Its the little things in life that make your kids happy. Cherish them, they grow up way too fast :)

Sloppy Turkey On a Bun

Good Morning world,

Last night I was experimenting again and threw together this yummy quick and easy dinner. I've been studying cookbooks lately and coming up with my own version of what I like.

This recipe is similar to Pioneer Woman's, but I don't like the thought of adding Ketcup to my recipe. It's only a mental thing. I don't even like to do it with meatloaf. So, I came up with my own version!

My hubby likes to add pickle to his…

1 1/2 pounds - Ground Turkey
1 - Bell Pepper
1/2 - Yellow Onion
Garlic clove or tsp of minced garlic
4 - tablespoons Chili Powder
1 - 15oz Tomato Sauce
dash of Hot sauce (Optional)
7 oz - Water
1/2 - cup Cheddar Cheese

Ground the turkey over medium/high heat until cooked throughout. Drain.
Add in onion and bell pepper, garlic & cook until onion is translucent
Add in tomato sauce, hot sauce, chili powder and salt & pepper
Stir around and mix thoroughly
Add in water and simmer for 25 mins
Add in cup of cheddar cheese. Stir and enjoy!

Serve on a toasted bun!

Mini Banana Cream Cups

Happy Wednesday! I thought I'd share with you a recipe that I experimented with and it turned out pretty tasty and light!

Easy Summertime recipes that only require a small amout of baking are just right for this Florida heat! Keep reading and Enjoy!  On tonight's menu, I'm experimenting with ground Turkey! Stay tuned for that recipe!

1- Sugar cookie dough (I used individually sliced)
1- 3oz Banana cream pudding
1- box Mini nilla wafers
1- 8oz cool whip ( I only use half)
2- Cups of organic milk

Preparation and Assembly:
Press prepared cookie dough into round flat discs
Using a pastry shaper, press them into the mini muffin cups
Bake as directed. (I press again with shaper once I take them out of the oven)
Cool completely
Mix banana cream pudding as directed on box. Chill
Once completely chilled, mix in half of tub of Cool Whip, Combine well
Using a pastry bag,  Empty Contents of pudding into bag. Squeeze into cups. Top with a wafer.

French Toast & Strawberries

French Toast with Strawberries oh how I love you! I love this go to recipe for breakfast, but most of all for a fast week night dinner. Simply delicious!

French Bread loaf - 10-12 pieces
6 eggs
2 tablespoons of Milk
1 teaspoon of Nutmeg
2 teaspoons of Cinnamon
Powdered Sugar
Whipped Cream optional

Start out by whisking your eggs, add milk, whisk again.
Add nutmeg and cinnamon. Poor into a 9x13 baking dish
Soak slices of bread until fully coated, flip and soak to ensure both sides are moist with egg mixture
A griddle here works best as you can cook multiple slices and have ready promptly.
Once cooked on medium heat and egg is completely cooked on both sides, remove from griddle

Garnish with powdered sugar, strawberries and whipped cream

Raw Honey

Patriotic Trifle {Recipe}

I made this delicious dessert for our 4th of July cookout at my mama's new farm! We had such a blast this year! Until we killed a cottonmouth snake under my one year old nephew's swing!

But once we had that taken care of, we were back in business. You can read about our wonderful 4th here!

I've gotten a lot of inquires about the recipe I used! It's so simply good! The dessert is light and airy, just what you need on a HOT summer July day!

Grocery List
1- Vanilla Pudding - mix as directed
1- small tub of cool whip
1 tablespoon of organic raw sugar
2 loafs of prepared Angel food cake or one box and bake as directed
1- small star cookie cutter 

Recipe Directions:

Small box of vanilla pudding mix as directed. Once chilled, mixed with one Small tub of cool whip. I hulled and chopped strawberries and sprinkled 1 tbls of raw sugar and let it sit while preparing my Angel food cake. Chopped cake in bite size pieces. I sliced 4 pieces of cake and pressed small star cookie cutter to cut out my stars for the top and toothpick. Then I layered!
